Edexcel A Level Physics revision notes

Notes for every point on the Edexcel A Level Physics specification, written the way the examiner wants to read it. Each topic ends with definitions to learn word for word, calculation practice, 6-mark prose answers and a topic test.

Exam boards: Edexcel now. AQA and OCR (A) to follow shortly.

How each topic works

Learn it spec point by spec point, then revise the whole topic in four ways.

1 · Spec point pagesAn animation, the notes, free workbook pages and a video for each part of the spec.
2 · DefinitionsThe definitions the mark scheme wants, with a checker that tells you what you missed.
3 · CalculationsEvery equation in the topic, rearranged and practised with units.
4 · 6-mark prose + topic testExtended answers with model responses, then the whole topic under timed conditions.

🎓 Want help with it one to one?

I teach Edexcel A Level Physics one to one. I've been teaching for 15 years and I mark the exams, so I know what the examiner is looking for.

Common questions

Which specification do these cover?

These pages follow Pearson Edexcel A Level Physics (9PH0). Topics 1 to 5 are also the AS course (8PH0). AQA and OCR (A) A Level pages will follow shortly.

Why are most of the pages greyed out?

The course is a work in progress. Every topic is mapped out so you can see what's coming, and each page goes live as soon as it's written.

Are these revision notes free?

Yes. Every page is free to read with no sign-up, no email and no paywall.

What are the 6-mark prose questions?

Edexcel papers include extended-answer questions where marks are given for a clear, connected explanation, not just the right facts. Each topic has practice questions with model answers so you can see how a full-mark answer is put together.
