Summer 2026 · Year 10 → Year 11
Physics With Kate · Summer Courses

Hit the ground running in Year 11.

Four relaxed, hands-on summer mornings that consolidate the Year 10 AQA Physics topics — fill the gaps, lock in the basics, and walk into Year 11 with confidence.

£100per morning · workbook + snacks included
Why this course

Year 11 is intense. Start it ahead, not behind.

Year 11 physics moves fast. Most students arrive in September having half-forgotten Year 10 — and spend the first half-term scrambling to catch up while new content piles on top. Then mocks arrive in November.

These mornings are the antidote. Relaxed, interactive, hands-on sessions that revisit the trickiest Year 10 AQA topics, fill in the gaps, and lock in the basics. Not a marathon revision course — a confidence boost.

"My daughter really enjoyed and got a lot out of the week — we've enjoyed her dinner-time science lectures too! (This evening's was hierarchy of waves and parts of the heart.)"
— Mum of a Year 11 student

Pick the topics your child wants to revisit, or come to all four. Workbooks and electronic copies to keep — so the work continues at home, in their own time.

What's included

Everything they need for the morning — and after.

£100 per morning. Workbook, snacks, and electronic copies included. Small group, big results.

Tailor-made workbook

A printed workbook designed specifically for the topic of the day. AQA Year 10 spec, no padding. Yours to keep.

Electronic copy too

You'll get a digital version of the workbook by email — perfect for re-reading on the iPad or making notes alongside.

3½ hours, including breaks

9:30am – 1:00pm. Three teaching blocks broken up with two breaks, plus a longer hands-on practical block — engaging without being a marathon.

Hands-on, not chalk-and-talk

Demonstrations, mini-experiments, real exam questions. Learning by doing — the bit physics lessons often skip.

Small group

Capped numbers so every student gets attention, asks questions, and isn't lost at the back. Friendly, low-pressure environment.

Snacks provided

Drinks, biscuits, fresh fruit during the breaks. Brain food. (Dietary requirements? Just let me know on the booking form.)

What to expect

Friendly, focused, and broken up so no one's brain is fried by the end. Here's roughly how the morning runs.

9:30am · Arrive

Welcome and warm-up

Quick recap of where the topic sits in the AQA spec. Settling-in activity to get everyone thinking before we dive in.

9:50am · Block 1

Topic teach-through (with demos)

The core ideas explained clearly, with demonstrations and mini-experiments to make abstract physics visible.

10:40am · Break

Snack break

15 minutes — drinks, biscuits, fresh fruit. A proper rest, not a "sit down and quickly check your phone" break.

10:55am · Block 2

Working through exam questions

Apply what we've just covered to real AQA-style questions. Mark schemes explained — students learn what an examiner actually wants.

11:45am · Break

Quick stretch

10 minutes to stretch, refill drinks, regroup.

11:55am · Block 3

Hands-on practical

An interactive activity — a mini-experiment, group challenge, or guided practical that brings the topic alive.

12:40pm · Block 4

Consolidation + Q&A

Flashcards, quick-fire recall, and a chance to ask anything that's still wobbly. Plus a take-home challenge to keep the topic fresh.

1:00pm · Finish

Wrap-up and head home

Workbook in hand, electronic copy on its way to your inbox, and a clear summary of what we covered for the parent.

Frequently asked

Common questions

Where are the courses held?

In Dulwich, SE London. The exact venue address is sent with your booking confirmation. Easily reachable by car, bus, or train from across South London.

Who is this for?

Students who've just finished Year 10 (going into Year 11 in September) studying AQA Physics — Combined Science or Triple. The content is pitched at AQA Year 10 level, with extension where useful.

Does my child need to attend all four?

Not at all. Each morning stands alone. Pick one tricky topic, or come to all four — totally up to you. Most families pick 2-3 topics their child finds toughest.

Will it cover Edexcel or OCR?

The workbooks are tailored to AQA specifically. The physics is the same across boards, but the exam-question style and emphasis differs — these mornings work best for AQA students.

What does my child need to bring?

A pen, a calculator, and (optionally) a refillable water bottle. Workbooks, snacks, and everything else are provided.

What if my child is shy or reluctant?

Most are, on day one. The mornings are deliberately low-pressure — small group, hands-on, no stand-and-recite-from-the-front. They settle in quickly.

How do I pay?

Once you've reserved a place via the form above, I'll send a payment link (Stripe). Spaces are confirmed when payment is received.

Cancellation policy?

Full refund up to 14 days before the session. Within 14 days I can usually offer a credit toward another date or 1:1 tutoring — get in touch and we'll work something out.
