An exciting new venture …

Looking back from 2026, I hope this is what the seed of a STEM School looks like.

The gap between the ability of a curious, pro-active and independent A Level student and the skills needed from the fast moving tech and space industries, is shrinking to nothing. How long before it will actually be detrimental for a STEM student to take a 3 or 4 year break at university before diving into the space, AI or web 3 industries. Can university courses realistically keep up the exponential rate of progress in technology or are our best STEM students better served by diving straight in and learning on the job as maybe there is more value working in agile, dynamic teams as opposed to listening to professors in traditional educational institutions?

Experience in a highly academic London school, supervising STEM clubs, being a STEM UCAS mentor and visiting tech companies has shown that a Maths and Physics A Level will open doors and apprenticeships direct from A Level. They are still few and far between but, as with progress in tech, they are rapidly springing up with a wealth of new opportunities starting up this year.

My ambition is to be part of this STEM revolution, continuing to provide expert advice and guidance for traditional further education but also by embracing the brave new world by supporting students to find and unlock the fast-track routes that the industries that inspire me are beginning to offer.
