Tutoring Physics - Why I love it
I grew up in a family of Physicists—my parents met while studying Physics at university, and both my brothers and I followed in their footsteps, studying Physics as well. This early immersion in science shaped my journey, and eventually led me to a career that I’m passionate about: tutoring.
In the 2000s, during the tech boom, I worked as a management consultant, applying IT and data solutions to complex business challenges. After my second child was born, I felt a strong pull toward community involvement, so I made the leap into teaching. I earned my teaching qualification while working full-time in a London secondary school, where I spent 14 years supporting and inspiring students in Physics.
Throughout my teaching career, I ran STEM clubs, organised school events, and I continue to serve as an examiner for GCSE and A Level exams. This experience continues to deepen my understanding of the skills students need to succeed, and I bring those insights directly into my tutoring sessions today.
Now that my own children are starting new chapters in their lives, I have the freedom and focus to run my tutoring company full-time. I’m dedicated to helping young people grasp Physics in a way that’s approachable and inspiring. My goal is to make Physics both understandable and enjoyable, empowering students with the confidence to pursue their ambitions in STEM.
Recently, I’ve collaborated with other educators to organise holiday sessions in Physics and Chemistry, and I’m loving the chance to work closely with motivated students who are excited to learn and do their best. Watching their confidence and understanding grow has been incredibly rewarding, and I consider it a privilege to be part of their academic journey.
